2025 brought many opportunities for us, whether it was opportunities to share with new partnering churches, bringing Selah overseas to meet her Tiale family, or to see the Tiale people grow, God has blessed our nearly decade-long ministry in Vanuatu… Please continue reading our update below.
Continue to pray for the Tiale outreaches!
Sometimes, posting once a week, cannot keep up with all that is going on in Tiale land!
This video gives a recap of what occurred last week during the children’s program in Tiale land. By the time you read this, the bi-annual Tiale Youth conference will be underway!
Even in the midst of heavy rains and flooding, some people even having to swim across the rivers, just to come and be a part of the event!
The 4 teachers are excited to preach about:
^How to be holy and dedicated to God.
^How to find God’s will for your life.
^How to correct those who sin.
^To be pure until you are married.
^Do not get drunk.
The teachers prayed over what would be important and practical things that the youth need to hear in order to walk as a Christian and how to resist falling into the traps that their culture, sin nature, and animism try to use to deceive them.
Pray for the children last week that made decisions to follow God. Please pray for the youth this weekend, that they would learn how to walk as a Christian in this dark world.
As one teacher said, “We must reach the next generation BEFORE Satan does!”.
Thank you for your prayers!

Time Sensitive!!!
***Time Sensitive!!!
For the next 12 hours (5pm EST), will you pray?
Day 2 is underway for the Tiale Kids Program! This is the first of many programs the Tiale people will host this year!
Teachers: Pastor Gabriel, Alick, Abel, and assistant Amber are leading this program.
Children from several villages have come to this 2 day event. Some of these young’s kids are as young as 4 years old. They all came to play games and to learn about Jesus.
If this has reached you, we would appreciate you taking a moment not to scroll to the next video, not to “tune out” this plea, and not to just pray for the food you are about to eat… instead, pray for the Tiale leaders as they have a chance to teach about the Creator-God in their heart language. Some of these kids have never heard the story of Jesus. For some, this may be the very foundation and building blocks of how they will view God and the Bible.
Thank you in advance for your prayers! They are not wasted! We will give updates next week!
Also, next week is the bi-annual Tiale Youth event! Please pray for the Lord to do a mighty work in the hearts of the youth! Much work is being done in and through the Tiale people to reach all of Vanautu.
Do not forget to do your part in this and pray!

Happy New Years!
Happy New Years from our family to yours!
As people look back on 2025 and look forward to 2026, there are many things to be thankful for that God has done… and many things for us to DO for Him.
People get lost in fitness, a “new you”, goals, finances, etc. What we DO know is that none of those things are eternal. Churches get lost in programs and structures made of metal.
How about taking a moment to make it a goal to daily pray for:
^the Tiale people (being selfish 😊)
^Unreached people groups being reached (over 2,500 language groups to go!)
^We know it is a command* to pray (Matt. 9:38)… How about making an eternal work become more of a habit in your* life?
We were so busy rejoicing about what God has done in the Tiale work these past few weeks, we did not get a chance to express something else that has happened during this time!
Brief story:
A Tiale pastor had the burden to check up on some his disciples. The pastor and his family hiked nearly 4 hours away, through the mountains and crossed dangerous rivers to check up on his disciples. The people in the village were encouraged to see the pastor, and the pastor was excited to see that the family and a few others have been faithfully meeting weekly.
While there, the pastor was able to bless the believers and preach many times. Several people came to the Lord through the teachings, and the next time he comes back, two members want to be baptized!
This is an isolated village, with no Christian community around for nearly 4 hours (hiking). The current believers are not gifted in teaching, but are reading the lessons Seth made weekly, and it is sustaining them for now.
The pastor has a heart for them, and also the surrounding villages.
Please read our upcoming Newsletter to see the “plan” for the Tiale leaders in 2026.
Do not make plans for fickle and meaningless things, like another vacation, a new hobby, a pile of books to read. Instead, make 2026 the year you dedicate more to God and pray for Unreached People Groups.
We as Americans pray enough for our food and health. There are gyms everywhere. Diabetes is a sign of abundance. Our buildings are getting to a larger scale. New English bibles seem to come out yearly. Clearly prayers for those type of things have been overly saturated, and yet, nearly 3 billion people have never heard the name of Jesus in their heart language. What will be your impact and what will you remember about 2026?

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!!!
Some look for stars 💫
Some look for presents 🎁
Don’t look under a tree 🌲
But rather, look up to God during this time 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for following our journey… these 10+ years have flown by. These past few months have especially shown great change in us and in the Tiale people.
Don’t worry about bringing a casserole over to your family or cookies to your neighbor, make sure you are involved in some way in bringing Jesus to others.
God bless you and your families! Merry Christmas and Happy new year 2026!
Seth, Nicole & Selah Stokes.
Tiale Outreach Part 2
I hope you all prayed last week! Exciting news!!!
Many came to Christ!
Several were baptized!
A few people from other villages and even some from town asked, “can you run this course teaching at our area?”.
And those from the village to who just heard the teachings are asking for, “part 2 and 3”.
On a personal note, a goal of ours is to see courses 1, 2 and 3 taught in all of Vanuatu. But I never wanted it to be done by myself, the “outsider”, but be indigenous run… and after years of training and discipling, we are finally starting this process!
Course 1: Creation to Christ.
Course 2: Security of the Believer.
Course 3: The beginnings of the Church.
The remaining courses (4-5) and supplemental teaching (all of which I have translated and am teaching the Tiale believers how to use), come to about 600 lessons in total; but these all will only be taught at the Bible School so that we can properly disciple and train people.
Finally, after years of work, sweat, tears, and literal near death experiences… the fruit is blossoming across the country.
We now have at least 4 places asking for Course 1, and then those that are interested will be able to hear courses 2 and 3 (like this previous village that asked to hear them).
An amazing yet interesting testimony!
—>
*A local pastor who happened to be in the village (passing by), from another organization that is working in Vanautu said, “I have been working with (another organization)… even though I am a “pastor” for them, I didn’t know this clear Gospel… this is the first time it’s been made clear to me… I might leave them, so that I can come to the Bible School in order that I can hear a clear and full message of the Bible”.
This is a testimony from a local person, who is working with another ‘Christian’ organization in Vanuatu, and this is the typical case found within the country, due to lack of good curriculum, training, and faithful discipleship.
We are excited for this next chapter in the Tiale ministry and what God is doing in and through His work.
This season is not meant to be busy with presents, pictures, concerts, or other “good things”, but this season is meant to praise God for His Ultimate gift: Jesus Christ.
Are you proud of gifting others unique and expensive gifts? Or are you excited that others got the opportunity to hear a clear Gospel for the first time (in history)?

Tiale Outreach Part 1
Hey, could I bother you for a minute to pray?
This week! The Tiale people started the process of evangelizing a people group with the full-Gospel.
This is the first time that this people group have ever heard the Gospel.
This is also the first time in the history of Vanuatu that one indigenous group is sharing a full Gospel to another indigenous group…
This outreach is led by local pastors and leaders… this is an exciting time in the Tiale ministry.
Do not get lost in buying presents or what foods to eat this week, but instead focus on what is important… souls being saved.
You might be getting ready to be overwhelmed by the routine of seeing family, traveling or a concert… but none of those come close to what is going on in history now… in Tiale land.
Jesus didn’t die for you to gain another pound from over indulgence, vain presents, or “feel” good events, He died for disciples to be made, and souls to be saved.
It’s simple, don’t over complicate things… give the gift of prayer for the Tiale ministry… thank you!

Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving and God bless!
Course 1 reflections; Final interview from our students.
During this week, missionaries and organizations make a push to ask for funds for various projects, and do we have projects that need supported as well? Absolutely. But we would rather bring to attention the need for prayer as God is working in the Tiale people.
When we first brought the Course teaching to Vanuatu back in 2016, we prayed that one day it would impact the whole country; being led by indigenous preachers taking the curriculum from village to village and language group to language group.
Next week, God fulfills that answer to prayer. The Tiale evangelists will be going to a sister language, and to a village that has never heard a “pure Gospel” yet. This will be the first fully-indigenous run outreach to present the course teaching. We are praying for this model to be replicated all over Vanuatu. Please pray with us! We are in historic times!
Thank you for your prayers and partnership in this process! God is truly answering prayer and growing His church.

Interview 7 of 8 for Course 1 teaching.
Course 1 reflections; part 7 of 8 from our students.
Missionaries have been coming to Vanuatu since 1839 (Williams & Harris were eaten), but sadly a “pure Gospel” can barely be found in the country. The country is rooted in animism (spirit worship, etc) and is riddled with syncretism; mixing ancestral worship, a false Jesus (whether thru the occults, prosperity propaganda (which is pushed heavily in “town”), or just a lack of information). This is why we put such an emphasis on the course teaching and to train the Tiale evangelists.
*Please pray for the Tiale evangelists, in less than a month they will be going to a sister language, and to a village that has never heard a “pure Gospel” yet. This will be the first fully-indigenous run outreach to present the course teaching. We are praying for this model to be replicated all over Vanuatu. Please pray with us!
*Please pray for the students as they are now back in their respective villages and have to stay faithful to what they learned.
*Please pray for the 3 pastors-in-training as we see them teach course 1 in various settings in Vanuatu.
*Please pray the pastors and leaders of the Tiale church(es), as they desire to emulate the Christ-like model to their people.
Thank you for your prayers and partnership in this process!

Video series, 6 of 8!
Once again, we are back to our video series!
This is part 6 of 8… as our students reflect on what they learned through Course 1 teachings… We love seeing how God works through and teaches everyone differently according to His Spirit.
We love that the school and many of the Tiale churches reflect both men and women serving God, in this video, we share a testimony of one of the two female students (who is unmarried, and is also one of the daughters of the Tiale teachers/pastors).
*Seth got back last Thursday, and in less than 36 hours from landing, hopped in a car to drive 8+ hours and spoke at a new partnering church.
*Please pray for students as they are now back in their respective villages and have to stay faithful to what they learned.
*Please pray for the 3 pastors-in-training as we see them teach course 1 in various settings in Vanuatu.
*Please pray the pastors and leaders of the Tiale church(es), as they desire to emulate the Christ-like model to their people.
Thank you for prayers and partnership in this process!
