Pockets of believers

This past weekend, we waited for an update from a Tiale pastor as to see how God worked through him and the outreach.

The Tiale people are always striving to reach every one of the 41 villages that speak the Tiale language, as well as going into other language groups.

The compulsion to share the gospel with those around, lays heavy on the hearts of the men, knowing that they have the Gospel and so many have yet to hear.

The local pastor took his family, as well as some of the disciples from his church to go check up on one of our strategic partners, in a village about four hour hike away.

We currently have two functioning churches amongst the Tiale people, but we have several groups of believers who meet regularly across many of the villages, as well as other language groups, which were products of the outreaches.

One of the aspects of our ministry is that we create word-for-word lessons, and if we find faithful people in those villages, we leave them with materials so that they can continue to go through them on a weekly basis and continue to feed themselves spiritually.

In this village, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the small group of believers were faithfully going through the lessons, and they were already on lesson 30. We are excited to give them part 2 and part 3 as they continue to study God‘s Word.

Not every village immediately produces a prospective Pastor, as part of the Tiale ministry, shepherding those flocks and encouraging them until a pastor arises from their village is the model we currently employ.

Continue to pray, as there is always a balance of maturing and shepherding your own flock, while also caring for the needs of others in the surrounding areas. There’s much work that needs to be done here in Tiale land but God is blessing the ministry and continuing to build His church in Vanuatu.

We still have 2 Sundays available before heading back, please pray that God will allow us to makes new connections for partnership.

Tiale Outreach 2026

What is enough to hinder you from going to church? From visiting your neighbor? From sharing the Gospel with your coworker? Rain? Snow? The flu?

Having been affected by; multiple earthquakes, volcanic activity and even a cyclone, the Tiale leaders were able to complete the process of sharing Course 1.

Teaching 35 lessons, preaching extra messages that were applicable for the people to hear, fellowshipping and praying with them… the men worked tirelessly for the Gospel this past week.

Many came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and those with a clear testimony were baptized.

One of the main organizers of the event realized he was not saved. A major issue in the country is hearing sporadic lessons and “popcorn sermons”, they do not aid to a proper foundation, and typically mislead people into a false sense of security and misunderstanding of the Gospel. This man finally was able to hear the clear Gospel in a systematic way, and is now trusting in Jesus alone for his salvation.

Teaching Course 1 has to be done in a group setting and in a condensed manner by indigenous believers in order for the lessons to be more impactful to the audience.

One chapter closes, the next one opens. Another outreach will be conducted to a Tiale village this weekend or next… please pray for that trip.

And in the not too distant future, Bible School opens back up and the second year of studies will be underway for the students. Please continue to pray for the leaders/teachers and the students.

On a personal note, we have 2, maybe 3 Sundays available left to share at new churches and share what God is doing. Please pray that we can make new connections.

April 2026 outreach urgent prayer request!

Pressing prayer request!!!

We normally post on the weekend, but this is too urgent!

If you receive our updates, you know the Tiale leaders are presenting Course One (full Gospel: 35 lessons) to a sister language group this week.

But what you may not have heard, in about a week span, the country with the most inclement weather patterns has been hit with:

• a 7+ magnitude earthquake

• a 5+ magnitude earthquake

• a volcano erupting

• and now a category 2 cyclone, growing into a category 3

All that to say, this is the prayer request.

2 days down! 3 days to go! Pray that all of these natural disasters do NOT hinder people from coming to the lessons.

People are by nature fickle… ready to make any excuse… please pray God works in the heart of the Tiale leaders to persevere, and then the people coming to hear the lessons.

God works through prayer, do NOT miss your opportunity in playing YOUR part in this event!

Thank you for your prayers!!!

Thank you for following our journey and what God is doing in and through the Tiale people.

 3 Specific prayer requests:

  1. We have (as of now) 5 Sundays available (that are not already filled) for new church partners, please pray that churches contact us back, and that there are those who advocate on our behalf to connect us for those meetings.
  2. There are about 10-20 churches we have visited in the past, that have expressed the desire to partner with us, but have yet to follow through with their commitment. Pray God stirs in them to consider us as their next partnership.
  3. Over our now 13 years of preaching and promoting missions, there have been at least another 40-50 churches that we have shared with, but at that time they were unable to partner with us. Please pray God brings us to remembrance in their minds when considering their next candidate.

We believe that with your prayer, filling up those 5 open slots, and God reminding the churches where we previously shared, that we can finish the task of raising our support level to 100%. Thank you for taking the time to read our update!

We covet your prayers, we always intend to give regular updates, keep current prayer requests, and share videos with our supporters in order to feel a part of the ministry. What does the Bible school look like?

As a famous movie once said, “if you build it, they will come”.

From 2017 to 2024, we built building after building, and remodeled the 2 buildings that were already there. We furnished them all and as we learned what the Bible School needed, we would add things like more latrines, more water tanks, benches, a kitchen, and much more.

Now the facilities can handle comfortably; 2 waves of students on different tracks (2 classrooms), 7 married couples dorms, a boys dorm that fits 15 men, a guest house, and a kitchen that can seat 100 people. The main classroom allows 36 students to have adequate space to learn God’s Word. There are plenty of places for hanging clothes, cooking, a garden to supplement the students, not to mention that it’s one of the few villages in Vanautu not to struggle with a water shortage (because of the amount of water tanks).

If you have followed our journey, we made awareness of needs from time to time, but most of the funds came through “random” gifts and one time donations, some very much unplanned by the giver side, mostly just felt led by God to “give”.

This is just one of the testimonies of how God built a facility that literally trains indigenous pastors, is used by the Tiale Christians for a quiet place to learn, host youth events, medical teams, and is used as a place of refreshment for local believers. This place is always being used, and in the “off time”, children flood the area and play soccer or volleyball as it is one of the best kept areas in the country. The countless souls saved, the many lives changed to look more like Jesus, the multiple language groups already reached… and the school has only been truly established since 2022.

(Prov. 29:18) “Where there is no vision, the people perish”. We see a vision that God will use the Tiale people and the Big Bay Bible school to reach the nation of Vanuatu.

Please continue to pray as God uses these men and this facility for His work.

The Tiale Multiplying

Listen to the heart of a Tiale pastor, who is excited to “mark out” (ordain) another pastor.

Seeing others come to the Lord is exciting in Tiale land, but for those that finish the 7-year cycle of training to become pastors, who then go out and serve in “God’s garden”, moves grown men to tears here in Tiale land.

A one minute video cannot express the heart of this Tiale pastor and the years of work, the decades of prayer, and the excitement of having another coworker who also speaks Tiale. In various language groups, there are many who are in the roles of leadership. But often in Unreached People Group ministries, there are phases where one may literally be the “only one”… and when you see the next generation begin to mature, especially after years of hard work… your heart feels a sense of relief… now you are no longer “alone”.

Please continue to pray for the Tiale ministry, as God cultivates more leaders to serve in His “garden”.

We hope that the Tiale work encourages you!

Continue to pray for us as we have 6 openings (Sundays) available for Seth to share our ministry before heading back to Tiale land!

The Tiale people live isolated in the middle of the jungle…

The Tiale people live in the middle of the jungles of Vanuatu, centrally located on the island of Espiritu Santo.

With nearly 40+ villages speaking the Tiale language, most of these villages reside on mountain tops.

To get from one village to another, although it may only be a 30 minute hike, it is still up and down a mountain, and through a river (or several-hopefully not flooded).

Being from the USA, we know the levels of comfort granted to us, enjoying nice roads (even in Pgh), riding in temperature controlled vehicles, and yet the excuses to visit our families and neighbors seems to be an inexhaustible list.

The unreached will stay unreached, the nearly 80+ language groups in Vanuatu alone that have no Bible, will stay untouched, until we change our mindset and “go”.

Jesus wants us all to do our part, and it starts with prayer. Matthew 9:38 is the template, having visited many places asking for missionaries, I can attest that it is not from a lack of “want” or “need” from the peoples standpoint, but instead a lack of “sending” from the evangelized churches.

The next time you pray, forego prayer on; your abundant food, your travel amenities, and health care providers available in all directions, but instead have your prayer aligned more with the heart of Jesus, pray for the unreached, and pray for someone in YOUR community goes!

What is Fruit?

Jesus teaches on the topic of “fruit” several times throughout the course of His ministry.

Several interesting observations about fruit is that; it takes time, not all trees bear fruit, you have to care for the seedling much earlier on in the process rather than later, and lastly, the fruit is for ‘others’ to enjoy. The tree does not enjoy its own fruit.

This July marks 10 years that we have served the Tiale people! God is truly growing many strong trees that produce “much fruit”.

Last week the Tiale leaders were able to complete the second part of the marriage course teaching in another Tiale village.

This week, the Tiale leaders saw the opportunity to do ministry at a local school, now they are presenting course 1 to several students every day.

It is encouraging to see the Tiale leaders take ownership on both sharing the Gospel to people who have never heard a full Gospel and then following up to provide key teachings to develop mature believers.

Continue to pray for the Tiale leaders as they are seeing the need for both their people and their neighboring villages. Whether it is giving the full Gospel or a specific teaching to correct misunderstandings that those believers may have… God is using these men greatly.

{p.s. Yes, those are photos of some of the trees we planted (avocado & orange) from seedlings… this is one of the many proofs of our tenure in Vanuatu}
