Seth is back in Vanuatu, please pray for him and the ministry as he is over there by himself for nearly 2 months. Keep in mind, we are independent, no teammates, and live 3+ hours away from town or another missionary, the rainy season approaches, and so any prayer would be appreciated!
Thank you for reading our Newsletter and following our ministry!
Your feet to the Tiale people and the country of Vanuatu, Seth, Nicole & Selah Stokes.
In the last newsletter, we shared about 3 specific points:
Ongoing Bible School (both the teachers and students).
Local Tiale church orchestrating a marriage conference.
The 3 pastors-in-training having opportunities to serve.
Even though we are absent from the Tiale people currently, we are always involved with strategizing, communicating, and planning the next steps in ministry…

We are your feet to the Tiale people. and the country of Vanuatu,
Please follow our journey as we share what God is doing in and through the Tiale people and with the Big Bay Bible School.
Our desire is for every village in Tiale land to hear a clear Gospel (Course 1), and for the country of Vanuatu as well to hear Course 1 thru 3.
These testimonies offer a snippet of what God is doing, individual by individual, those who are being impacted by the Gospel. Course 1 leads people into dependency of God, not man.
*Please continue to pray for the students and teachers, the students range from single and 18 years old, to a married grandpa at age 48. The Gospel is for all people at all stages of life…
The man who is speaking in this video, was eagerly taking notes while in class and then almost daily would share what he learned with his family. He eventually was able to lead his preteen son to the Lord.
*Please continue to pray for the daughter of one of the pastors/teachers, she is still healing from giving birth, and her baby is still needing prayer.
When we arrived in Vanuatu back in 2016, we noticed many people did not know the foundational truths of the Bible; the Gospel was polluted with animism, good works, and sporadic teachings.
One of the first things we did was translate Course One (Firm Foundations) into the national language, and in 2016 after translating the lessons we taught the first course ever in the country, teaching it up in Tiale land. With so many people eager to hear this “new” teaching, people were sitting outside the building because of how full it was… one week later, 35 lessons taught, conducted with much dialogue and questions after each lesson, many people came to the Lord, even some of the wives of the pastors.
Nearly a decade later, we have taught Course One multiple times, as of now, all of the local Tiale churches have heard the complete Course One (with many far into Course 5). As of today, a local church in town is going through Course One, being taught by a ‘pastor-in-training’ that was produced by the Bible School.
The Tiale men see the importance of running the course in its entirety in a continuous session, thus later this year they will be conducting an outreach, to start and finish the program over the span of 2 weeks. After this initial outreach is performed and critiqued, they plan to do the same method to the remaining 30+ Tiale villages that never heard a clear Gospel.
Continue to pray that God uses both the Bible School, the Tiale church, and the developed lessons to reach Vanautu with a clear Gospel.
Thank you for your prayers and support, your feet to the Tiale people and the country of Vanuatu. Seth, Nicole, & Selah Stokes
Please take a moment to read our latest update and see what God is doing in and through the Tiale People, though at times there are lows, there are many highs as well.
Please take the time to pray for the various needs both for the Tiale people, and ourselves as well, thank you!
We appreciate your prayers! Your feet to the Tiale people & the country of Vanuatu,
We wanted to share with you the typical atmosphere of the Bible School property at night!
Most nights one or both classrooms are being used; the main classroom is for group study and lesson prep, and the second classroom is used for personal study and discipleship.
Between men’s Bible study, women’s prayer, discipleship classes, and strategy meetings… the “empty” time is filled with the students studying.
We cannot express the joy in our hearts as we see a leader or student studying at night… one of the leaders said, “thank you for providing a space for us to study God’s Word quietly”. With communal living and open houses, there is not much “private time”, but we are thankful to God that He provided a place to help cultivate a love for His Word.
One of the blessings that occurs vicariously is that as a young child comes and looks for their parents in the classroom, they are witnessing their parent focus and prioritize God and His Word. This will impact further generations…
Imagine the conversation if you may, it’s past 9pm and your young child comes and says to you, “when are you done studying God’s Word and coming to bed?”… these are normal conversations that get to happen here… imagine the worldview change that will occur over time? We are excited to see what God has in store.
Continue to pray for the leaders, future leaders, and the students here in Tiale land.

The Tiale people meet on Sunday evenings for prayer service!
We wanted share a glimpse of that fellowship with you all.
This has been going on for nearly 3 years.
Seth developed a 52 week lesson course for prayer, and then trained the lead pastor how to use the materials, and how to conduct corporate prayer, focusing on biblical prayers and how to engage others to participate in a shame based culture.
It is beautiful to see the Tiale people meet together; having groups of adults cultivate the youth how to pray, giving them an opportunity to be bold and pray out loud… men…. Women… young and old, all participate in the Tiale prayer service.
God has been doing amazing things here in Tiale land over the past month!
The Bible School Students & Teachers
We love to brag on what God is doing in and through the Tiale people! The churches are healthily growing in their walk with the Lord, and we are excited to witness firsthand what God is leading these men to do here in Vanuatu. As the “main” church is growing, we are excited to see what the next phase of ministry will look like… to continue reading check out the full newsletter below. Thank you for following our ministry!
We know many of you pray for us and the Tiale people, and we know many of you specifically pray for Selah, and as our way of saying “thank you”, here is a short video to show her going to church.
She absolutely loves the people and is loved by them.
